The People of Penn State

Episode 86 – Paint, Paws, and Pucks with Tom Mosser, owner of Tom Mosser Design

Penn State Alumni Association Season 5 Episode 86

In this episode of The People of Penn State, we sit down with Tom Mosser ('82, A&A), founder of Tom Mosser Design and Lucas Paw, LLC.

Tom shares the story behind his inventive artistic style, ranging from his unique loop and flow techniques to his signature Sports Ball Impressionism, where he transforms ordinary sports balls into striking works of art. He also reflects on the viral success of his Museum Series, which features dogs gazing thoughtfully at paintings of floating tennis balls, and how it changed the trajectory of his career.

We explore how Tom’s art has found a home in iconic venues like Lambeau Field and the Prudential Center, and how he uses his creative talents for advocacy. Notably, he led the Make a Marc exhibition to raise awareness for detained teacher Marc Fogel.

Tom lives in Penn Hills with his wife, Mara, and their golden retriever, Franco.
